Monthly Music: Mics & Mingles
Hi Folks, Steve Holliday here .. if you don’t know me, I’m the
Technical Director/Sound Guy at The Indiana Theater, as well as an
active Board member of the Downtown Theater Project.
It’s been a crazy first year here at 637 Philadelphia Street, but we’ve
loved inviting fans of all styles of music and performance into the
room, and we’re going to continue that into the future, with a Spring
Schedule chock-full of incredible artists and a whole lot of variety –
from Chamber Music to Reggae, Soulful Jazz to Hair Metal, and even
Stand-Up Comedy … We hope that everyone can find a show that they’ll be into, so check our Line-up here.
But right now, I’m excited to announce a couple of things we’ve got in the works that are more participatory in nature ..
Open Mic Night: Last Thursday of Every Month
Every Last Thursday of each month.
7pm-10pm, $5 Cover (or Free to Members)
Doors and Registration at 6:30pm
Bring your instrument, your voice, and a few songs you want to share to play and sing your heart out on the big stage!
*Poetry and Stand-Up also welcome .. but keep posted on the regular “Poeming Through the Dark” Open Mic Series to participate in that wonderful group, too!
We’ll also have Drums, Bass, and Guitar Amps on stage to use for the last hour of each Full-Stage Open Mic, when “House Band Tryouts” happen .. (meaning Open Stage / Open Jam) to encourage creative chemistry between people who may have never met or played together before!

This is an All-Ages “Hangout” kind of night, so bring some friends and have a blast, or bring yourself and just chill with our WiFi and snacks …
The focus of the Music Mingle being everybody’s favorite jams, attendees are highly encouraged to bring in their favorite tracks – in list form or on most mediums (Vinyl, CD, Cassettes .. or if its the music video that hits ya, we’ll put it up!) – and we’ll curate a custom playlist for the night!
You wanna have a Funky Disco Dance Party? Or are you feeling more Emo these days and need to Goth-out … well, let the Music Mingle be whatever your vibing!
We want you to come as you are and help us make a fun night out of a seemingly random Monday.
So yeah, let’s have some fun and keep making The Indiana Theater the place to be! I hope to see ya there sometime
